Sarah’s Health Blog – What is it all about?

Having been through stages of good and bad health, of good fitness and stages of being overweight, I continually chose to learn about my body and how to regain my health. Events in the past 3 years (since 2010) have thrown me way back and I am writing this blog for you to follow my progress back to health in the hope that you can learn and benefit from it.

So who is Sarah?

To start off with demographics, I am an early thirties divorcee without dependants. I come from a loving, complicated and mildly overweight family in Germany. The kind that does your head in but you could never live without.

I became very interested in nutrition a few years ago due to some health and weight issues I had and eliminated all of them just by eating right. It made me realise that our bodies are just as complex as they are magnificent with an almost infinite ability to heal themselves – if we provide the right conditions that is.

What can you expect from this blog?

Swearing. Well, no. Mainly information on living a naturally healthy life. But there will be swearing. I am afraid us Germans are a bit prone to swearing and I can’t hold it when I feel passionately about a subject. And when it comes to health and lack thereof, well, I do feel rather passionately. That being said, this blog is not meant to give medical advice or be a replacement for seeing your GP. This blog is a platform for me to share my Opinions on the many topics related to health. I am not a medical practitioner and I don’t know it all (not that medical practitioners do…). I have opinions, some of which I have to admit are better researched than others. All of them I have acquired through some level of research. I do not tend to form an opinion on someone’s say so.

Some of the things I will write about may be controversial and I don’t expect anyone to agree with anything. I’d like this blog to be active so do share your opinions on my posts, but keep it constructive.

So expect information on all aspects of health from exercise and nutrition to reducing your body’s toxicity by using natural alternatives to the usual chemical solutions. Some will come in form of informative articles, others by sharing own experiences which a few people may be able to relate to and I would hope my solutions could work for you too.

Why am I writing this blog?

Because I have been doing a lot of research into a whole lot of things, accumulating knowledge that is benefiting only me and the people directly around me. Knowledge is power and by sharing my knowledge, however limited in the grand scheme of things it may be, I hope to empower many other people to make more informed choices and live a healthier, better life.

  1. Sarah, I know exactly what you are going through with the identity crisis thing and adrenal fatigue. I just found out I’ve had AF for at least five years now and I can hardly do anything. Even minimal physical activity wipes me out. The identity crisis thing, though — I am going through that very much. It’s almost like these past five years I haven’t grown as a person at all.
